The Deputy Chief of Staff, Alex Segebefia says the emergency of the newly formed National Democratic Party (NDP) will not derail government efforts in achieving its ?Better Ghana Agenda?.

The new political party linked to former First lady Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has been viewed by political analysts as another test for the NDC ahead of the December polls.

The NDP which is yet to receive full certification from the Electoral Commission has already appointed former NDC General Secretary Josiah Aryeh as its National Chairman.

However, Mr. Alex Segbefia, speaking on Radio XYZ?s Current Affairs program, ?the Analyst? said it is too early to start assessing the possible impact of the new party on the NDC. Mr. Segbefia said ?I have to take everything with a pinch of salt because at the moment there isn?t even a political party.

?It hasn?t been formed and therefore one would have to be very careful in one?s mind before we start to talk on issues of this nature otherwise all we will be doing is speculating.
?There would come a time when one would have to speak, I am an NDC member, I know who my flagbearer is and I am focusing on ensuring that the NDC under the leadership of President Mills retains power and continues his second term?.
