As Ghana prepare for the quarter-finals of the African Nations Championship in South Africa, some of Maxwell Konadu?s men could be motivated by the fact that scouts from Europe are following the tournament.

South African-based football agent Ralph Nkomo, who has watched most of the matches in the competition tells KickOff.com that a sizeable number of representatives from local and international clubs are monitoring the matches with a view of discovering untapped talent.

Ghana, Nigeria, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Morocco and Burkina Faso are some of the teams competing in the tournament, which is only open to players who turn out in their domestic leagues.

?You must appreciate that there are several countries taking part in these games and this is what has attracted a number of scouts from inside and outside the country,? Nkomo says.

?I had a look at some of the players from Ghana when they played against Congo. There were also scouts from France and Belgium together with representatives from some South African clubs,? Nkomo adds.

?The transfer window will close at the end of this month. The tournament will be played until 1 February so there are many matches and many players to have a look at.?

Previous editions of the competition have exposed the talents of Rahim Ayew ahs Philemon McCarthy.
