Samuel Inkoom has been frozen out at Dnipro

Samuel Inkoom Insists Lack Of First Team Action At Dnipro Is Not For Footballing Reasons

By Patrick Akoto

Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom insists his lack of first team action at Dnipro has got nothing to do with his performance.

The 24-year-old has found himself out of favour at the Ukrainian outfit under manager Juande Ramos and spent the second half last season on loan at French side Bastia.

The problems of the ex-Kotoko defender started when he defied a club order not to play for Ghana?s Under-23 team in an Olympic qualifier against Nigeriaa in 2011.

He has since been frozen out of the Dnipro team with Spanish manager Juande Ramos believed not to be in good terms with the Ghanaian international.

Inkoom has insisted his lack of first team action at the club has got nothing to with his form.

?The issue at Dnipro has got nothing to do with my performance,? Inkoom said

?The coach was not happy when I came to play for Ghana. He is still punishing me for that.

?Some officials of the club keep talking to him but at the end of the day he is the coach and has the final say.

?We are still talking and looking around and I?m sure it will be fine.

Inkoom played full throttle for Ghana in their 6-1 demolishing of Egypt in a first leg tie of the 2014 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday.
