Samsung has launched week-long celebration in Accra to reiterate the company?s commitment to reward and inspire customers and communities.

Richard Nunekpeku, Marketing Manager of Samsung Ghana, said a number of exhibitions and activations had been planned to entertain consumers and expose them to Samsung?s wide range of products at the Accra Mall and other Samsung sales points.

Additionally, sporting events would be held at the Lizzy Sports Complex in Accra.

The company, in partnership with experts from Afrique One Consortium, will visit Amansie near Kumasi to raise awareness about Buruli Ulcer as well as construct a borehole for the community.

The Service Manager, Frank Owusu Otabil, added that there will be free repair of Samsung products at authorized shops in Kumasi and Accra.

?Samsung is listening to the market, building partnerships and reenergizing it commitment to Africa and its people. In fact, this Samsung Week will mark the third in a series of eight Samsung weeks taking place across the continent,? said George Ferreira, Chief Operating Officer and Vice president of Samsung Electronics Africa.

The celebration, which starts from 17 to 23 September, 2012 is under the theme: ?Creating the future together.?

In an interview with CITY & DAILY GUIDE, Mr. Nunekpeku said in October, this year, Samsung will launch an IME number which will be used to determine original Samsung phones to be able to distinguish their products from fake ones.

Even though he could not tell how fake Samsung products had impacted their operations in Ghana, he said Samsung will take steps to tackle the menace in the near future.
