S/Africa Seeks Stronger Ties With NNPC

The South African High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Kingsley Mamabolo, has restated his country?s readiness to build a stronger economic tie with Nigeria, especially the Nigerian National petroleum corporation (NNPC).

To this end, the envoy said that a contingent of businessmen from Bloemfontein, the capital city of Free State Province of South Africa would visit Nigeria soon to engage the NNPC?s management in areas of mutual? interest and cooperation.

Mamabolo, who was speaking during a courtesy visit to the NNPC?s Group Managing Director, Mr. Andy Yakubu, in Abuja, yesterday, said that the proposed visit is informed by the need to ?further strengthen economic ties with Nigeria in the spirit of African brotherliness and economic integration.??

He adds, ?With the economic crises in the European countries, it is high time we came together and strengthen our economic relationship for the benefit of the continent.??

Yakubu, while noting that the NNPC had had various interactions with the South African Government and companies, gave the assurance that NNPC was ready to work hand-in-hand with them.
