Three – time flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, on Friday commiserated with the family of the late Abubakari Saddick, with a call on them not to retaliate his death saying the deceased had sacrificed for the cause of democracy.

Saddick was stabbed to death by one Muhamadu alias ‘Duna’ last week Friday during a scuffle between two rival factions in the Asawase Constituency over a locked party office belonging to the NPP which ended bloody.

Nana Addo who expressed his deepest sympathy and that of the entire party membership to the family said Saddick’s death should be the in the last in the history of Ghana’s democracy and added the NPP has a firm conviction that the country’s democracy should be devoid of blood shed.

Nana Addo expressed sadness for such an incident happening in his absence and added that its rather unfaortunate that the final funeral rites which is known in the Muslim religion as the “Ardua”, which is scheduled for November 22, but assured the family of the deceased that his running mate Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, and other leading party members would be present to support them.

The NPP flag-bearer donated GH₵2,500.00 to the family to support the funeral and exhorted them not to feel too sad about the incident which he said could be an act of God.

Nana Addo was accompanied by some Party stalwarts including the third national Vice Chairman, Mr. F. F. Antoh, Mr. Kwadwo Owusu-Afriyie, alias Sir John, former National Secretary and Afisa Otiko Djaba, the National Womens’ Organiser.
