Caps Limited recently supplied to the flood victims with two modern toilets facilities dubbed Enviro Loo worth over 6m/- on the outskirts of Dar es Salaam.
Giving a word of thanks for the support by Caps Limited which specializes in mobile latrines, the Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Said Mecky Sadick, said that the modern toilets would help Tanzanians, who came from different parts of the city after they were displaced by floods that hit hard the city in December last year.
“This support is really great help to the leaders, service providers here at Mabwepande and to other citizens generally. One major problem in this area is access to toilets. But these types of Enviro Loo toilets are best alternatives for its advantage of not using water in order to avoid diseases,” the RC said.
Moreover, the RC has urged various people by encouraging them to use the toilets as a solution to overcome health hazards as well as protecting the environment.”These toilets are comfortable and modern. They are environment-friendly. It is not necessary to use water in these toilets as they are totally unique in the way they dry and can be used for a long time,” he said.
Caps Limited’s Managing Director, Mr Peter Mareale, said that the toilets were of two types. One had a capacity to cater for 20 people and the other for 10 people.He added that the company deployed the same technology Caps toilets to Enviro Loo strains from South Africa two years ago.
“Enviro Loo toilets associations are founded by Dr Brian La Trobe and has been making the toilets in South Africa since 1993 which is the answer to economic and pollution matters around the world,” he said.Now installed in 39 countries, the Enviro Loo is recognised as an environmental and cost effective alternative to water borne sanitation. Mareale noted that the Environ Loo was available in three models, according to capacity and needs.
The toilets were of various types including: toilets providing services to more than 50 people (VIP type), those that provide service to two people at once (Standard Type) and another type similar to a trailer, can also accommodate two people at once.Caps Ltd., was the first to incorporate other forms of mobile toilets from South Africa seven years ago.
