The Proprietor of Royal School Complex in Nankese in the Eastern Region Mr. Philip Adongo during the anniversary celebration of the school elaborated that schooling is one of several important contributors to the skills development of an individual.

According to him, although government does a lot in ensuring that the education of an individual is paramount, parents, individual abilities also play part.

He enumerated that private schools also have a special place not only because education and skill creation among their prime explicit objectives, but also because they are the factor mostly directly affected by public policies.

Mr. Philip Adongo said it is heart-warming to note that the commitment and engagement of various stakeholders in education to find solutions to issues of achieving universal quality basic education by 2015 is on course.

He noted that the school was established eleven years ago with current students? population of three hundred and fifty, nine teachers and three non teaching staffs.

He averred that he took upon himself to establish the school since the area is a deprived one and train the Ghanaian child to become someone in future since they are the future leaders.

The academic performance of the students comparing last two years to last year has improved drastically. Last year the school came-up 11th in the BECE examination results in the Suhum municipality and came first in the Nankese circuit.

?All these successes cannot be achieved without the help of our hard working teachers, who work tirelessly to uplift the image of the school. About ten children are on scholarship, and this year, we presented nineteen students for the BECE and we hope they will come out with flying colours,? he said.

Mr Philip emphasized that with the help of the PTA the school has been able to construct an on-going classroom block, but the school is in need of classroom blocks, finances, library block, computer lab and science lab.

He appealed to all and sundry, government and the GES to come to their aid.
