ROSEMOND AKOSUA Nyampong, the 32-year-old Stanbic Bank Staff who was murdered at her residence at Baatsonaa on the Spintex Road will be laid to rest today.

She will be laid in state at the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) Dominion Centre on the Spintex road which will be followed with a burial service at the same venue and to the Osu Cemetery for her interment.

The final funeral rites will take place at the family residence at Ofankor with a memorial service at the KICC Dominion Centre tomorrow.

Rosemond left behind her mother, three brothers and two sisters.

It would be recalled that Rosemond Nyampong was found dead in her ash coloured suit on November 21, 2013 at about 5:30pm after family members were alerted by her co-workers of her absence from work that day.

Anxious efforts by her colleagues at the head office of the bank where she works at the Credit Department and some relations, to know her whereabouts, led to the discovery of her body at her kitchen with blood oozing from her nostrils and mouth.

It is believed that the deceased was struck with an object on the left side of her face on her premises when she was about leaving for work in the morning by her assailants.

The impact of the object, according to information gathered, dazed her, enabling the perpetrators of the heinous crime to carry her to her kitchen where she was strangled to death.

The Sakumono District Police Commander, Superintendent

Alex K. Wowolo told DAILY GUIDE that the autopsy report of the deceased released by the Police Hospital in Accra indicated she died from strangulation.

One suspect, Abraham Kwame Baah, has been arrested in connection with the murder, and charged by police to appear before court on December 21, 2013, pending further investigations.
