Ghanaian international Afro-Roots star Rocky Dawuni will be bringing his high energy fussion of reggae, afrobeat and soul to the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in the David Rubenstein Atrium on Thursday, August 13th in New York City.

Dawuni continues his show stopping live performances for the “Branches of the Same Tree” Summer tour. Coming straight off headlining performances at Blissfest in Northern Michigan, California Worldfest in Grass Valley, TGIF Concerts in the Park in Carlsbad, CA, Grand Performances at California Plaza in Los Angeles, this will be an opportunity to catch Africa’s rising star in the Big Apple. Rocky takes the stage at 7:30 pm sharp but please come early to secure a good spot at this free, all ages event!

Rocky’s Lincoln Center performance will be followed by an Official After Party at Meridian23 in NYC featuring live perforamnces by Bajah and Dry Eyed Crew and Kahli Abdu & VHS Safari plus the ever cool DJ Center!!

Rocky Dawuni is a and humanitarian activist who straddles the musical boundaries between Africa, the Caribbean and the U.S. to create an appealing vibrant sound that unites generations and cultures. You may have already seen the sizzling video for “African Thriller” (watch here) from Rocky’s new album, Branches of the Same Tree that The Guardian called “a heavy one-drop number that has the energy of a dancehall tune and a memorable hook.”

Filled with uplifting and irresistible songs, Rocky’s sixth album, and first on Cumbancha, blends inspirations from his diverse experiences while expanding on his identity as an artist, a proud son of Africa and as a true world citizen.
