Locked security operatives up in one of the offices

A federal secretariat in Katsina State was, on Friday, raided and thoroughly ransacked by bandits believed to be robbers.

According to witnesses the operation was carried out in the early hours of Friday and lasted for about three hours.

A witness told newsmen that the suspects numbering about 20 gained access into the secretariat through the rear gate while the police and other security personnel were at the front gate.

It was gathered that the suspects gained entrance into virtually all the offices of the secretariat.

They were said to have burgled accounting offices of many departments including those of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) and Nigerian Prison Service (NPS).

After the operation, the suspects reportedly attacked the security agents at the front gate and locked them in one of the offices.
