rLG Communications Limited has denied a story published in the Tuesday, December 4, 2012 edition of DAILY GUIDE captioned: ?Police Uniforms Seized At KIA? in which the company was said to have been allegedly involved in the illegal smuggling of police uniforms through the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

The story noted that one consignment of the illegal police uniforms was ?cleared alongside goods consigned to rlg Communications through the Aviance section of the airport.?

A rejoinder issued by the Legal and Corporate Affairs Department of rlg Communications indicated that ?it has no involvement in the issue or the story and has had no such issue with the police.?

It continued: ?rlg Communications wishes to further state that it is a Ghanaian company which has never engaged in the business of importing security-related gadgets, police uniforms inclusive into the country.?

According to the company, the attempt to link it to the alleged incident was ?unfortunate and a calculated attempt to tarnish the hard-earned reputation of the company and should therefore be treated with the contempt it deserves.?

This paper has since expressed an unqualified apology to the management and staff of rlg Communications over the story.

rlg is among Africa?s leading indigenous ICT assembling companies, which has contributed to the training of young people.
