A supposed ?maiden? meeting by Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea, with party communicators and serial callers turned into heated trading of words and wild counter accusations by loyalists of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten.

While the meeting, which was held at the party?s Asylum Down headquarters on Tuesday, was to fashion out new ways to churn out the party?s message, and tackle the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, The aL-hAJJ gathered it was marred with the age long Nana Akufo-Addo and Alan Kyeremanten rivalry.

The acrimonious meeting was organized in two sessions; the first meeting was with the party?s communicators while the second session which was held from 2pm was with serial callers.

Present at the meeting was Director of Communications, Nana Akomea; some deputy Directors of Communications among them, Yaw Adomako Baafi, Anthony Abayefa Karbo and Perry Okudjeto; General Secretary, Kwabena Adjei Agyepong amongst others.

Sources close to the meeting narrated to The aL-hAJJ how some communicators accused supposed loyalists of Alan Kyeremanten in the communication team of scheming to deny the party?s 2016 flag bearer victory in the next presidential election.

The Alan Kyeremanten aficionados where also accused of working to get Nana Akufo-Addo linchpins like Member of Parliament for Tema West, Irene Naa Torshie Addo; MP for Awutu Senya East, Madam Mavis Hawa Koomson; Ursula Owusu of Ablekuma West and others to lose their seats in the 2016 elections.

Sources say these accusations opened the Pandora Box for some supporters of Alan who were present at the meeting to retaliate with counter accusations that some senior members of the party with strong ties to Nana Akufo-Addo were also planning to cause the defeat of some of Alan?s loyalists including MP for Suhum, Frederick Opare Ansah.

The heated exchanges, party insiders say, became more intense that Kwabena Agyepong expressed extreme disgust and wondered what Ghanaians would make of party fighting to come to power in 2016 if happenings in the meeting get out?

Not even the wise counseling of the party?s General Secretary could stop the Nana Akufo-Addo and Alan supporters from hurling insults at each other to the extent that the awful incident was carried over to the evening of the 76th birthday bash of former President Kufuor?s?at his residence.

Meanwhile, The aL-hAJJ has gathered that leaders of the Communication outfit of the NPP are scheming to kick out supposed loyalist of Alan Keyeremanten from the communication team to prevent what they described as ?plans to sabotage Nana Akufo-Addo and some sitting MPs.?
