Rigworld Foundation (RWF), a subsidiary of Rigworld International Services Limited has gone to the assistance of three institutions to improve the conditions of scores of people across the country.

The donation which forms part of the company?s corporate social responsibility (CSR), include the construction of an ultra-modern community church for the Roman Catholic Church at Ada Foah in the Greater Accra Region, the donation of several items including cartons of milk, sugar, fish, detergents and antiseptics to two orphanages; Countryside Orphanage at Bawjwiase and Nectar Foundation at Krobo-Odumase in the Central and Eastern Regions respectively.

The other include the donation of a number of textbooks, school bags and other teaching and learning materials to teachers and pupils of Abanzi Basic School in the Central Region.
Managing Director for Rigworld International Services, Mr. Kofi Abban observed the company was committed to ensuring the socio-economic development of the country.

In the light of this RWF he emphasized was working hard to provide appropriate and sustainable social interventions in deprived communities across the country.
The RWF, according to Mr. Abban has envisaged a number of key projects to assist several communities in 2015.

Among upcoming projects to be undertaken by the Foundation this year include the construction of a borehole and repair of two broken ones at ?Atta ne Atta? community in the Shama District of the Western Region to support community members have access to safe and potable drinking water.
The rest include supporting the Asuotwene Presbyterian Church in the Adeiso District of the Eastern Region in the construction of a church building as well as the construction of a classroom block for Community A D/A primary school in the Upper Manya Krobo District also in the Eastern Region.

Mr. Abban assured RWF will partner with relevant government and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to support deprived communities in Ghana.

The RWF was established in January 2013 as a single purpose vehicle to drive Rigworld International Services? corporate social responsibility initiatives in the country.

The main aim of the Foundation is to have a broad community impact and support national development priorities aimed at eradicating extreme poverty and hunger, achieving universal primary education, promoting gender equality and women empowerment, reducing child and maternal mortality, ensuring environmental sustainability and developing global partnership for development as contained in the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

The objective of RWF is to contribute actively to the communities and the local environment it operates.
