Latina confirmed on Tuesday that it has reached an agreement with Atalanta to buy the Ghana international.

The 22-year-old is expected to undergo a medical today before completing formalities.

The Ghana striker rejected a move to two interested Serie A clubs apparently for two reasons – Latina offered him the highest salary in Serie B and head coach Mario Somma has challenged him to lead them to Serie A.

GHANASoccernet.com sources in Atalanta say the deal is worth €4 million plus add-ons.

Boakye himself will become the division’s highest paid player.

Latina’s multi-million euro investment is a huge vote of confidence in the 22-year old Ghanaian who has high global ranking of his striking talent and prospects.
