Story: Samuel ninsin

The Mpraeso circuit court presided over by Mr. Kwaku Osei has sentenced a 65 year old revenue collector to 7 years imprisonment in hard labour for defiling a Seven year old primary one pupil.
The revenue collector Yaw Owusu from Kwahu Bepong pleaded guilty to the charge of defilement and was convicted on his own plea. Prosecuting, Inspector Andrews Anim Yirenkyi told the court that Owusu and victim and her parents reside at Bepong in the Kwahu South District.

 
He said on the 4th of March this year, the victim left the house to a place of convinient at a public toilet where Owusu was the revenue collector and after paying , she asked for a piece of toilet roll but Owusu refused to give it to her.
The prosecutor said, while was leaving the toilet Owusu called her into his kiosk hoping she was going to be given some of the toilet roll but rather removed her pants and urged her to burn down and sexually abused her.

 
Inspector Yirenkyi said, after satisfied himself, he drove her away and warned her not to disclosed what transpired between them to anyone but the victim went and inform her parent who took her to the chief’s palace to report Owusu’s conduct to the chief.
He said, the chief invited Owusu and the police to the palace where he admitted the offence and was handed over to the police and the victim was issued with a medical form for medical examination and later charged with the offence.
