The Volta Regional Cyclists Association has commemorated this year’s Republic Day Celebration with a cycling competition in Ho.
The 80 kilometer race from Ho to Ziofe and back, was contested by 18 cyclists from across the region.

Mr. Amen Ametor, Secretary of the Association told the Ghana News Agency that the race was part of a series of cycling activities to revive Republic Day celebrations, which according to him, was losing its significance.
He said the Association sought to train the youth to compete in the regional and national competitions, saying that, “the health benefits and environmental friendliness of cycling should motivate people to take up the sport.”
