Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC inaugurated a new branch in Tarkwa, Western Region, on July 25, 2025, reinforcing its retail expansion strategy and commitment to financial inclusion.
The branch the bank’s third in the Western Region aims to drive economic growth in the mining hub through tailored services for businesses and residents.
During the opening ceremony, a Bank of Ghana representative praised Republic Bank’s dedication to advancing financial accessibility: “This branch empowers Tarkwa’s economic aspirations with innovative solutions.” Moses Armah, a customer and business owner, highlighted the bank’s role in his enterprises’ growth, stating its presence “opens doors for local entrepreneurs.”
Managing Director Dr. Benjamin Dzoboku emphasized community-focused initiatives, including recruiting staff from the Western Region and offering specialized products like the “Fantastic Four Credit Cards.” He noted, “We provide SME financing, mortgages, and digital banking tools designed for Tarkwa’s unique needs.” The bank also pledged support for UN Sustainable Development Goals via its “Power to Make a Difference” (PMAD) initiative, targeting education, health, sanitation, and climate action.
Services at the new branch include business loans, women entrepreneur programs, and investment opportunities. Republic Bank, a subsidiary of Trinidad and Tobago’s Republic Financial Holdings Limited (RFHL), operates Ghana’s leading universal banking platform with 187 years of regional expertise.
