It will be a fight to finish in Uyo when relegation bound 3SC of Ibadan confront high riding Akwa United FC on Sunday
3SC head coach, Akeem Busari having known the herculean task ahead believes that the tie against Akwa United will be the tonic they need to turn around their fortune this season.
Akwa United have had a poor build-up to the match, after picking up just one point from their last two league games and losing to Warri Wolves in the Federation Cup semifinals, but Busari feels they are still dangerous opponents.
He said that Akwa United proved they are a good side with their remarkable run up till the Federation Cup semifinals, and that he was expecting “an interesting match” as both teams now find themselves at the wrong end of the NPFL table.
“I’m expecting an interesting match since both teams are down and will be fighting to improve on their position,” he said.
“Akwa United showed they are a good side by eliminating some strong sides to reach the Federation Cup semifinal, and their recent poor run of games doesn’t make us the favourites to win this match”
“We do not expect to take advantage of the bad patch they are experiencing because it is part of the game, and they can find their form at any time” he said.
3SC are just above the relegation zone in 16th position with 33 points from 26 matches, while Akwa United are a place above them with 34 points from 25 matches.
