Ghana?s ?Rebel? Hiphop Artiste Marries

When the entertainment rumour mill started rolling the last couple of weeks that Lousika, Ghana?s ?rebel? hiphop artiste, was getting married, many were those who presumed her husband-to-be will be from the showbiz fraternity.

But the Boss Chick singer swerved everyone when she tied the knot with her heart throb, Kwabena Sarpong, a business man at a private wedding ceremony held in a hotel at Ahodwo, a surburb in Kumasi last Saturday.

Unlike most celebrity marriages which attract a large following, Lousika?s wedding did not have many of her colleagues in attendance. It was just a small gathering of family and close friends to give her support on this important day.

Until last Saturday, many entertainment circles observers were guessing who the groom was going to be. Some said it was Sarkodie, others said it was Jay Foley, her manager, while others believed it was going to be someone from the industry. But all the speculations led to wrong men. The right man, Kwabena Sarpong, was obviously taking a low profile.

Lousika entered the Ghanaian music industry about two years ago with her Boss Chick track and since then Christelle Akua Sika Amankona, her real name, has won a lot of admiration for her rap style of music.

She earned Best Female Video of the Year and Best Discovery of the Year at the 4syte Music Video Awards and hardly has there been any music award event without her name on the nomination list.

Currently, the 20 year old has six singles including Need Your Love which featured Sarkodie, Hands Up and Take Over.

Heavily influenced by artistes like Missy Elliot, Beyonce, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, she does a blend of Hip-hop and Afro-Pop music. Lousika also raps and sings in four languages including French, Twi, English and Spanish.
