Readout of Vice President Biden?s Call with Sudanese Vice President Taha

WASHINGTON, September 17, 2012/African Press Organization (APO)/ ? Vice President Biden called Vice President Ali Osman Taha of Sudan today to express his concern for the security of the United States Embassy and other foreign missions in Khartoum. Vice President Biden reaffirmed the responsibility of the Government of Sudan to protect diplomatic facilities and stressed the need for the Government of Sudan to ensure the protection of diplomats in Khartoum. Vice President Biden emphasized that the highest priority of the United States is the safety of the U.S. diplomatic presence abroad.
