A veteran politician has reiterated his call for the trial of the former President Rawlings and his wife, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.
Mr. Joshua Attoh Quarshie recalled that ?at the time when the political temperature was very high in Ghana in the year 2008, the former first Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings made a categorical statement to the whole country, saying, Nana Akuffo-Addo, the then leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and also the flagbearer, was not a lawyer?.
He said right after these accusations, ?late former President?John Evans Atta Mills, who was the then leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the flagbearer immediately made a press release to refute what Nana Konadu said, saying Nana Akuffo-Addo was not a just Lawyer but a good one of course?, adding, this immediately silenced Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings and coiled back into her shell?.
Speaking in an interview, Mr. Attoh Quarshie said ?the woman mentioned above, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, and her husband, Mr. Rawlings had destroyed many lives unlawfully, openly and secretly?.
?Rawlings invited people from all over the world to come and witness howinnocent human beings were going to be killed?, adding, ?that was open demonstration of wickedness and then secretly, he killed three judges and those whose killings were not know?.
Mr. Attoh Quarshie explained that ?the three high court judges, eight army officers and strong men in academia were killed without any reasons, yet some politician, imams and clergy rather go around praising Rawlingses for their wickedness against innocent Ghanaians?.
He said ?this is the time for Mr. & Mrs. Rawlings to be on trial for the crime they have committed against humanity, not later?.
The veteran argued that ?with or without the indemnity clause in the 1992 constitution, Rawlings must be on trial?, explaining, ?at the time he committed these crimes, the 1992 constitution was not in force, therefore he must be on trial now?.
He wondered ?how can this man go free in a real civilized society?, saying, ?they spent their corrupt money to organized people to assassinate people after leaving power. They intimidated and assassinate people so he must be on trial?.
Mr. Attoh Quarshie ?predicted that Mr. Rawlings would end up his wickedness in mental hospital?.
He said ?sooner than later, the wheels of justice will start grinding towards the most evil surviving head of state of Ghana, Mr. Rawlings?, adding, ?even if the people of Ghana, political and judicial authorities and the state security, which was suppose to check wrong doings also failed do justice to Rawlings, the Justice of the Supreme God will never fail?.
Mr. Attoh Quarshie was optimistic that ?God?s own supreme court of justice would execute true justice for the people of Ghana?.
He warned that ?Mr. Rawlings is somebody who had smeared his hand with blood of innocent men and women, therefore, anyone who associate him or herself with Rawlings and wife would automatically taste the fury of God Almighty with their entire family.
He said ?people who committed such murderers in the Second World War, civilized nation were searching for them up to today, how we can allow Rawlings to go free while religious leaders were shouting and they don?t support the religious ways, which says, those who killed must be killed, and therefore Rawlings and wife must also suffer the same since they created artificial orphanage?.
