Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila is proud with his achievement of wining the South African league just within a season of joining Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 21-year-old will be picking up his first medal in South Africa on Saturday following the Brazilians? comprehensive 3-0 win over SuperSport United on Tuesday night.

Sumaila became an instant hit with Choorklop since arriving at the beginning of the season from Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko.

The Black Stars defender has played 22 out of Sundowns? 29 league games so far this season to effectively enhance his chances of making Ghana?s squad for the 2014 World Cup.

The central defender is however most delighted with his early achievements in the South African top flight.

?It has been very tough for us but the team was very determined to win the league this season,? he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

?We started very well and fell of midway but regain our form to finish had in the latter parts of the season.

?We have worked very hard for this and I am very happy to win this title with Sundowns.?

Sumaila will receive his league winning medal with the rest of his team on Saturday when Sundowns travel to face Maritzburg United in the final game of the season on Saturday.
