QPR were perhaps fortunate to escape the drop last season and have yet to win a league game this term. Bottom of the table and in desperate need of a positive result this evening, QPR host West Ham who make the trip to Loftus Road from east to west London. Hughes has brought a number of new faces into his squad but the influx of players has been reflected in fragmented performances. Can they turn the corner tonight?

Andy Carroll is on the bench for West Ham while Rangers start with Djibril Cisse and Bobby Zamora up front.

QPR: Julio Cesar, Hill, Nelsen, Mbia, Onuoha, Wright-Phillips, Granero, Faurlin, Park, Zamora, Cisse. Subs: Green, Diakite, Taarabt, Mackie, Ephraim, Hoilett, Ehmer.

West Ham: Jaaskelainen, Demel, Reid, Collins, O?Brien, Noble, Diame, Vaz Te, Nolan, Jarvis, Cole. Subs: Henderson, McCartney, Tomkins, Carroll, Maiga, Benayoun, O?Neil.

The referee tonight is Mark Clattenburg.

Hughes has spoken of cutting out the lapses in concentration that have dogged QPR?s campaign so far. Reading capitalised on that in the last game at Loftus Road in the League Cup, coming from behind in dramatic style to nick a 3-2 victory. In the league, Hughes?s side have drawn here 0-0 against Chelsea and were hammered 5-0 by Swansea on the opening day.

?Fans at West Ham are interested in the passion of the player and the commitment of the player, rather than all that pretty football stuff,? Sam Allardyce told the Guardian in this interview. If the results keep coming, he may have a point, but Allardyce?s side were jeered following their 4-1 defeat to Wigan in the League Cup and if the defeats keep coming, then the manager?s style will always be the first issue that springs to the forefront of unhappy fans? minds. Since their excellent performance against Fulham at the beginning of September, West Ham have drawn twice and lost once. Carroll inspired them on that occasion, will he get another chance this evening?
