Andre Ayew being chased by a host of clubs

The decision by Queens Park Rangers owner Tony Fernandes not to sign Andre Ayew is one of the factors behind Harry Rednkapp?s departure, a report in UK newspaper Mirror claims.

The 25-year-old was reported to being on his way to join Rangers in January but owner Tony Fernandes is said to have vetoed the deal.

Manager at the time Harry Redknapp was keen on bringing the Ghanaian international to Loftus Road only to see his prospective move collapse at the behest of the owner.

Though the official reason stated for Redknapp?s surprising exit was based on ill-health, The Mirror claims the failure to secure Ayew during the winter transfer period played a role.

The forward is out of contract at Olympique Marseille at the end of the current season and has been linked with several clubs.

Roma, Wolfsburg, Borussia Dortmund and Napoli have been reported as interested as are Premier League clubs; Everton, Newcastle and Swansea.
