This is to provide the members with some vocational support to improve their livelihood.

The training was organised by the Birim Central Municipality and the Business Advisory Centre (BAC) under the National Board for Small Scale Industries.

Mr Kwabena Nkansah Asare, the Birim Central Municipal Chief Executive, expressed satisfaction with the performance of previous trainees who were able to put into practice the skills acquired to transform their living standards.

He assured the persons with disability in the area that the Assembly would respond to their call whenever the need arose.

Mr Joseph Aniagyei Yeboah, the Chairman of the Ghana Disabled Society, said the BAC had provided skills in sewing, batik and tie-and -dye making for females within the Ghana Federation of Disability Organisation with start-up support from the assembly.

Madam Vicentia Bansah, the Resource Person, took participants through the process of soap making including the liquid soap, powdered soap, and the bar soap.

Mr Richard Mongson, an Officer of BAC, said the centre had been supporting the training programme of members of the Ghana Blind Union through the Rural Enterprise Programme, the International Fund for Agricultural Development and the Agricultural Development Bank.
