Kumasi, Jan 30, GNA – Prisoners have been advised not to allow their present circumstances to kill whatever dreams they may have  had for their lives before their incarceration.

The stint in prison should provide the opportunity for them to re-examine themselves and give their lives to God.

Pastor Francis Tuffour, Director of Chaplaincy and Communications of the South Central Ghana Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA), made the call at a church service held at the Kumasi Central Prisons.

The church also donated a large quantity of toothpaste, toothbrushes and biscuits worth GH¢2,500.00 to the inmates.

Pastor Tuffour who preached on the theme: “Prison is not your end”, told them to keep the faith and be hopeful about their future.

They should take inspiration from the “Biblical story about Joseph”, he said, adding that, God at times allowed people to go to prison to prepare themselves for greater future responsibilities.

He noted that some of them might be innocent of the crimes for which they were suffering punishment and that even for the guilty ones’, it was within the power of God to forgive, transform and assign them key roles in society.

He encouraged them to use their time there to study the word of God and accept Him as their personal savior.

Pastor Tuffuor said the church would continue to support them, physically and spiritually.
