The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) has stated categorically that the Executive Secretary of Ghana Free Zones Board, Mr. Kwadwo Ansah Twum Boafo, is not a member of the church.

The under fire Twum Boafo who also doubles as a member of the government communications team, on Tuesday issued a statement announcing his resignation from the Presbyterian Church of Ghana on the back of a communiqu? from the church cautioning the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana against the creation of the 45 new constituencies.

Speaking on various media networks yesterday to call the bluff of Mr. Twum Boafo, the Public Affairs Director of the Presbyterian Church, Emmanuel Osei Acheampong, mocked at Mr. Twum Boafo?s claim of membership in the church, saying ?we the staunch members of Presbyterian Church of Ghana do not know Mr. Twum Boafo as a member of the church.?

He described the recent conduct of Mr. Twum Boafo as disgusting and shameful indicating that checks at the Christ Congregation in Akropong Akuapem where Mr. Boafo claims to be a member corroborates that; ?it is his father, Mr. Twum Boafo senior who is a registered member of the Presbyterian Church.?

?What qualifies someone to be a qualified member of the Presbyterian Church is that you need to have a membership card and you need to be paying your tithe but records from the church indicate that Mr. Twum Boafo Jnr., only attends church as an occasional member and this has been collaborated by his brothers and other siblings,? the PRO explained.
Mr. Acheampong further stated that ?in his resignation letter, he (Boafo) stated that he belongs to the Prince of Peace Presbytery, there is nothing like Prince of Peace Presbytery in Presbyterian Church of Ghana. So for now the Presbyterian Church of Ghana wants the general public to know and be aware that Mr. Kwadwo Ansah Twum Boafo is not a member of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.?

The Presby PRO called on Mr. Twum Boafo to rather resign from theNDCover comments made by the General Secretary of theNDCagainst the Church indicating that the Moderator and the Presbyterian Church of Ghana are in bed with the opposition NPP.

According to Mr. Osei Acheampong, the so-called misbehaviour Mr. Twum Boafo attributed to him (PRO) was ?neither here nor there.?
