powerBut the power utility said it connected the first town of Mwinilunga to the national grid on July 25, 2016 and that it expects to complete the connection of other towns by July next year.

“Diesel generators have been used to supply electricity to Mwinilunga for the past 40 years. The connection of Mwinilunga to the grid will stimulate economic growth in sectors such as agriculture, mining, and manufacturing,” the power utility said in a statement.
