Aburi (E/R), March 27, GNA- The Reverend Samuel Adjei, president of the Christian Friends of Democracy, has reminded politicians of their responsibility to ensure the success of the on-going biometric voter registration exercise.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Aburi on Tuesday, he observed that the Electoral Commission (EC), alone could not ensure the success of the on-going registration exercise without the support of all stakeholders including politicians and the political parties.
Rev Adjei explained that the road to peaceful elections in future starts from the voter registration exercise.
He said anyone interested in the future of the country had to ensure that the country went through a peaceful election because when the country was plunged into war and  confusion, the people would not be there to be governed.
Rev. Adjei said Ghana was respected and cherished all over the world because of her ability to go through several elections without resorting to violence.
He said that image needed to be maintained to help attract investors to the country to create employment for the youth.
Rev. Adjei therefore advised the leadership of the various political parties to check their members who are trying to cause problems in the ongoing registration exercise.
