The Very Reverend Dr. Yaw Frimpong-Manso, immediate past Moderator of the Presbyterian Church, has underscored the need for God-fearing, selfless and dedicated political leaders, to help shape the economy of the nation.

Political leaders, he said, must therefore look up to the Church for the wisdom to lead their people.

?Politicians must come to the church to know the wisdom to govern..?

Very Rev Dr Frimpong Manso made the call at the launch of his fourth book titled: ?Tell The Nations,? at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra over the weekend.

?Tell The Nations? is a compilation of letters, addresses, and speeches delivered by the former Moderator during his tenure of office.

According to him, proceeds from the book sales would be put into the Frimpong-Manso Pension Foundation to assist retired ministers of the Church.

Very Rev Dr Frimpong-Manso, currently the Resident Pastor of the Emmanuel Presby Reformed Church in Bronx in the United States, was of the strong conviction that the State and the Church should play complementary roles in shaping the physical ans spiritual lives of the citizenry.

The two institutions he said, must be always concerned about the total development and well-being of the people.

?There should be no sharp division or dichotomy between the State and the Church when it comes to matters of national development.?

The former Moderator reminded religious leaders of the need to be vocal about issues of national importance, adding that the Church must always speak out on national issues , and should not concern herself with only spiritual matters.

He urged African leaders not to subject the governed to oppression so that they do not become slaves in their own lands of birth.

Very Rev Dr Frimpong-Manso, expressed his profound appreciation to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu, and other contributors of the Foundation, for their generosity, and presented them with Certificates of Appreciation.

Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, President of the Worldwide Miracle Outreach, auctioned the book, with the first two copies selling for 20, 000 Ghana Cedis.

Mr. Steve Mawuenyega, Executive Chairman of Contrast Limited who presided over the function, urged all well-meaning Ghanaians to contribute their quota in support of laudable projects to help improve the living standards of majority of Ghanaians..

Captain Nkrabeah Effah Dartey (retired) a leading member of the New Patriotic Party, and Mr. Theodore Gyau, former President of the Association of Ghana Industries, were among dignitaries who graced the occasion.

The 316-page book deals with national and international matters of importance in the areas of Education, Governance, Economy, Peace, Crime and Socio-Political topics.

It also touches on religious matters, and sees the State and the Church as indispensable partners in nation-building.

The author has dedicated ?Tell The Nations? to all his teachers, for knowledge imparted to him to make him who he is today, and to all Presbyterians, for giving him the opportunity and the moral support to excel as their Moderator.

The first three books are titled: Tend The Flock; Those Who Have Ears; and Pulpit Insights. GNA
