Men of the Aba Area Command and Ariaria Divisions of the Nigerian Police have raided two hard drug spots within the Ariaria International Market and arrested 15 suspected criminals who are being accused of being behind the recent kidnappings in the area.

According to police sources, the operation led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ariaria Division, Steve Nigga is said to have been necessitated by the renewed wave of kidnapping incidents around the area.

The drug spot known as ?Black kingdom at Samek by Old Express road and ?Snow White? by Bakassi area of the Market is said to be a camp for notorious criminals in the area.

A police officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity at the Ariaria Division told 247ureports.com that it is part of the routine efforts to rid Aba of criminal elements.

A resident of the area who declined to have his name on print hinted that Black kingdom is a spot where drug addicts in the city relocated after they were sacked from their former spot at York Street by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

247ureports.com gathered that the two drug spots serve as a meeting point for most hoodlums who converge at the place to coordinate plans for their criminal activities.

Abia state police spokesman, ASP Geoffrey Ogbonna described the raid as a proactive measure taken by the Police Command in the state to ensure that the state was free from all forms of criminality.
