Emmanuel Frimpong

Police have launched an investigation into the alleged racial abuse suffered by ex-England youth Emmanuel Frimpong who was recently cleared to play for Ghana by FIFA.

Frimpong and his teammate Danny Haynes claimed they were racially abused in the 0-0 draw at Millwall in the Npower Championship.

Both men, who were unused subs, took to Twitter to reveal the alleged incidents after an action-packed contest at The Den.

Frimpong, on loan from Arsenal, tweeted: ?If I didn?t no what a racist man ever look like? surely found that out at millwall today #ruthless fans? ? but he quickly deleted it.

Incidents like this could have influenced the 20-year-old to opt for his country of birth despite playing for England?s U16 and U17 sides.

Racism on and off the pitch has been a big issue in England with a lot of black players voicing their views.
