Police in Nigeria’s northwestern state of Katsina has apprehended a suspected kidnapper, Ibrahim Muwange, allegedly terrorizing communities in four local government areas of the state.

The suspect, who has long been on police wanted list, was arrested on Saturday at Dayi in Malumfashi area of the state, following a tip-off, state police spokesperson Gambo Isa told reporters on Monday in Katsina.

According to him, the suspect has been on the wanted list in connection with various cases of cattle rustling, kidnapping, culpable homicide and armed robbery.

One AK-47 rifle was recovered in his possession, the spokesperson said.

Katisna, the home state of Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, has been witnessing frequent attacks by armed bandits. Enditem
