The Police in Tamale have begun investigations into the vandalization of billboards of the NPP Parliamentary candidate for Tamale Central, Iddrisu Musah Superior.

This followed a formal complaint lodged on Wednesday by the Tamale Central Constituency NPP executives.

The Tamale Central NPP Communications Director, Akbar Khomeini told Citi News, ?As I speak to you the situation is calm, we made a formal complaint to the police command and we also saw the need to involve the traditional authority and we visited the Gukpegu Naa and the Dakpema Naa and formally complained to them about what our brothers and sisters in the NDC have done to us.?

According to him, the chiefs indicated to the NPP their commitment to finding an amicable solution to the problem.

Meanwhile, the Tamale Central NDC Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Andani assured residents of the area that there will be peace in the area before, during and after the upcoming elections.

He said: ?To consolidate the peace in the area, we are even trying to organize gala football matches between the youth of the two political parties to promote peaceful co-existence.?
