Ghana Police arrested taxi driver Ernest Mohammed Adjiri on June 2, 2025, after discovering 120 compressed slabs of suspected cannabis concealed within fertilizer sacks in his Hyundai i10 taxi.
The National Highway Patrol Unit conducted the intelligence-led interception, during which Adjiri confessed ownership according to police statements. He remains detained pending prosecution.
In a separate interdiction, Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) officers detained four individuals at Kotoka International Airport on May 18, 2025, preventing alleged cannabis export attempts.
Among those arrested was 23-year-old British national Jada Chyna Brown-Frater, intercepted during pre-boarding checks for a British Airways flight to London Gatwick. NACOC confirmed her luggage contained 17.72 kilograms (32 slabs) of cannabis. Both operations reflect intensified monitoring of domestic and outbound drug trafficking routes through coordinated enforcement efforts.
