As the November 2013 Governorship poll in Anambra State fast approaches, the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has assured all its aspiring members of  free, fair and transparent primaries.

Chairman of the state chapter, Prince Ken Emeakayi, pledged this during the brief ceremony to receive the report of the party?s Reconciliation and Harmonization Committee led by rtd Justice Paul Obidigwe, at the party?s secretariat in Awka.

According to him, ?the gubernatorial primaries of the party will be openly contested, and not selected, awarded, given or chosen.

?Every vote must count and must be counted in our primaries?, he emphasized.

Assuring that the party must reclaim the state in the next guber poll, Emeakayi thanked God and members for the return of peace and unity in the party in the state now.

He blamed external forces for the crises that hitherto rocked the party.

He thanked the Paul Obidigwe-ed PDP Reconciliation and Harmonization Committee for a job well done and urged them to further take their peace mission down to ward and local government levels with a view to permanently resolving the crisis in the party.

Emeakayi restated that the retired Chief Judgee (Obidigwe) and his group had  done the job many severally failed to accomplished in the past.

Obidigwe who headed the peace committee disclosed that they made wide consultations with stakeholders of the party, said his committee made a wide consultation with stakeholders of the partying the state ,including the pioneer Board of Trustees (BoT) chairman-Dr. Alex Ekwueme, Senator Andy Ubah, National Publicity Secretary-Chief Olisa Metuh, former Minister Josephine Anenih, Chief Dan Ulasi, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, amongst others in the course of their assignment.

He noted also that some who couldn?t come sent forward written memos, while some contributed in both oral and written forms.
