The wife of the President urged the people to shun violence and embrace dialogue

First Lady, Patience Jonathan

The First Lady, Patience Jonathan, has emphasised the dignity of human life and the place of each individual in the development of the country.

Speaking on Sunday in Benue at the 45th birthday celebration of the wife of the governor of Benue State, Yemisi Suswam, Jonathan said: “Every Nigerian is important and has something to contribute to development; only by loving one another can we, as a people, move forward.”

She urged the people of Benue to shun violence and promote peace, advising them to guard their societal sanctity and dignity against social vices and embrace dialogue.

“Don’t allow bad eggs spoil your good name. Bring your grievances to the table, stop the killings and let love and peace reign,” Jonathan said.

She was full of accolades for the celebrant, saying Suswam “has done well in reaching out to the needy and less privileged, especially in combating the Mother-to-Child-Transmission of HIV/AIDS in the state”.

The Benue first family expressed their appreciation to the First lady.
