It was a hectic time for Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Florence Owusu, the Commandant of the Ministry Police Station and her team of officers to bring the situation under control on Wednesday morning after about 30 minutes interruption of the exercise by the supporters of the two parties.

DSP Owusu told the Ghana News Agency that she received a distress call for re-enforcement from her men on the ground concerning the ages of some persons trying to register at the Accra Art Centre Polling Station No C100601 in the Klottey Korle Constituency.

After the Police had restored calm at the Centre, the Electoral Officials were able to resume their work at 1120 hours.

Mr Samuel Ato Davies, the Presiding Officer at the Polling Station, told the GNA that the issue at stake was a misunderstanding between the NDC and NPP polling agents and that although the exercise was disrupted briefly, the work was not affected.

Mr Davies, however, declined to narrate the details of the whole incident to the GNA.

Mr Isaac Kwame Sarpong, an NPP Polling Agent and Mr Anthony Breyan of the NDC blamed each other for causing the upheaval.

Dr Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, the NDC Klottey Korle Constituency Nominee, who was at the Centre at the time of the incident, assisted the Police to restore calm.

She appealed to the supporters of the two leading parties to allow the electoral process to proceed without hindrance.
