This was revealed by the Dean of the Parliamentary Press Corps, Andrew Edwin Arthur, at the End-of ?year get-together in for the Corps held in Parliament House last weekend.

The Parliamentary Press Corps is an Association of journalists who report on proceedings in the parliament of Ghana. It has been in existence since the beginning of the Fourth republic constitution of 1992, which marked the return of the country to constitutional rule.

The Parliamentary Press Corps has been responsible for the dissemination of information about parliament for all these years and according to the current Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Dr. Edward Doe Adjaho, the group has over the years performed creditably.

Dr. Edward Doe Adjaho has been a long standing Member of Parliament since 1992. He was the MP for the Avenor Ave constituency in the Volta region for five consecutive terms till his elevation to the Speakership position in January 2013.

The occasion was graced by the Rt. Hon Speaker and his Deputy, Ebo Barton Oduro and the Clerk to Parliament, Mr. Emmanuel Anyimadu.

According to the Edwin Arthur, the Parliamentary Press Corps is positioning itself to continue serving as an effective link between parliament and the Ghanaian public. Therefore, ?we have decided as part of our programme this year, to serve as a bridge to close the gap between Parliament and Ghanaians.?

He therefore used the occasion to appeal to corporate institutions and benevolent individuals for financial support for the Corps towards the implementation of the projects.
