The group which is made up of teachers numbering over three thousand say their consistent calls on government to pay their salary arrears have yielded no results even though ther have been clearance by the audit service for their salaries to be paid.

TeacherPresident of the group, Eric Darko Effah who spoke on Citi FM said they have made countless efforts in demand of their monies but the Finance Ministry has failed to release their monies.

He said, “We were validated on the field. A team of auditors comprising GES and other organisations came on the field last year 2015, November December and we were assured that our report has been submitted to the Ministry of Finance and our checks confirmed that the report was submitted on the 30th March but as to now we have not heard anything from them again.”

Meanwhile, there are reports that a number of the teachers in the country employed by the Ghana Education Service presented fake certificates.

The validation exercise, which is being undertaking by Audit Department and the Controller and Accountant General’s Department, has currently cleared a total of 13,268 teachers across the country to receive their outstanding salaries that have delayed for the last two years.

But, the Ministry of Finance is yet to do so, which has angered the unpaid teachers.
