The Edo governor’s principal secretary was murdered on Friday

The Edo State government has announced that it will give a N10 million reward to any person who volunteers information leading to the arrest of the killers of Comrade Olaitan Oyerinde, the Principal Secretary to Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

The reward was disclosed on Sunday in Benin by Peter Gana, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

According to the DIG, the Edo State government offered the reward to facilitate the arrest of Oyerinde’s killers. Oyerinde was murdered in his home by gunmen last Friday.

Gana, who said that he was in Benin to complement the efforts of the state Police Command, pledged that the Force would do everything possible to arrest the perpetrators of the crime. He urged anyone with useful information that could lead to the arrest of the killers to contact the police.

“We have opened three telephone lines for the public to assist in the investigations,” Gana said when he visited Oshiomhole at the Government House, Benin.

He said the telephone numbers – 080178624253, 08158823049 and 0814177026 – would be active from 3 p.m. on Monday.

Gana assured the people of the state that the Police would do its best to guarantee the safety of lives.
