Chinese smartphone maker Oppo on Friday launched the new Oppo A Series 2020 into the Kenyan market to attract mid-level youth and other consumers.

The brand new smartphone, which includes the OPPO A9 2020 and OPPO A5 2020 models, is the brand’s latest offer for the mid-level market.

“We named the Oppo A Series 2020 in celebration of the beginning of a new decade and also to commemorate the success of A series over the past 10 years while welcoming a whole new generation of mobile users,” Muthoni Wachira, public relations officer of Oppo Kenya told journalists during the launch.

Both models come with a multi-purpose Quad Camera setup, including a 48MP Main Camera, 8 MP Ultra-Wide Lens, 2MP Mono which will offer all-around use that can satisfy users’ needs for all shooting angles and scenarios including the Ultra Night Mode 2.0 and a whole host of artistic portrait styles.

The A9 2020 is equipped with 16 MP selfie camera while the A5 2020 with 8MP selfie camera, both using AI beautification technology that identifies skin tone, age, gender and skin color.

The A9 Series will retail at 29,999 shillings (299 U.S. dollars), whereas the A5 Series will be sold at 239 dollars.

Both gadgets will be available for pre-order starting Oct. 25 at all OPPO shops countrywide, whereas all sales will commence early November. Enditem
