One person has died of hepatitis E and nine others tested positive in Namibia’s capital Windhoek, the health ministry said Wednesday.

Health minister Bernard Haufiku told the media that the only recorded death happened on Dec. 19 since the outbreak on Dec. 14.

Hepatitis E is spread through faecal contaminated water and poor sanitation.

Most of the affected people are from the informal settlements where living conditions are unfavorable, according to the authority. Enditem
