The Office of the President has refuted claims that it, through the Head of the VVIP Unit, has been engaged in a dispute over land owned by the Ghana International School (GIS).
In a statement released on Thursday, September 5, the Presidency emphasized that it holds no interest in the land.
The statement clarified that no officer or representative from the Office of the President has been instructed to intervene in matters related to GIS’s land within Cantonments.
It further explained that Chief Superintendent Ibrahim Opoku of the VVIP Unit had acted with utmost professionalism and responsibility by reporting to the Cantonments Police Station after encountering an altercation involving alleged encroachers at the Cantonments barrier.
The statement noted that this action was in strict accordance with standard operating procedures, and the Chief Superintendent had properly submitted his credentials at the police station, demonstrating the integrity of the process.
In response to the situation, the Office of the President has lodged a formal complaint with the Inspector General of Police, requesting a thorough and transparent investigation, ensuring the public is kept informed.
The Presidency, in a bid to maintain the integrity of the information, urged the public to disregard any contrary statements, labelling them as false.
