Authentic reports reaching Ghananewslink.com indicate that the Member of Parliament for Aburi-Nsawam, Hon O.B Amoah, who was arrested over the GHC51million Woyome judgement debt, has been released on bail.
The Minority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu has confirmed the news a few minutes ago. The Minority Leader added that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament (MPs) would be meeting very soon to decide the next line of action(s)
OB Amoah was arrested and detained Sunday night and charged with corruption and causing financial loss to the state in the controversial judgement debt payment made to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) self-styled financier, Alfred Agbesi Woyome.
Earlier, irate youth in Adoagyiri and Nsawam in the Eastern Region had blocked the Accra-Kumasi road over the arrest his arrest.
The angry residents also gave a 24-hour ultimate to the President Mills-led government to release their MP or face the fire.
According to them, we are going to hit the streets of Nsawam and its environs with naked demonstrations if the government fails to heed to our call.
But, impeccable sources told the Ghananewslink.com that the release of OB Amoah means that the government has yielded to their pressure.
