NPP UK Hull Chapter Holds Annual Dinner To Mobilise For ROPAL

As a High Court in Accra, Human Rights Division, presided over by His Lordship Justice Anthony K. Yeboah, ordered the Electoral Commission to implement within 12 months, the Representation of the People Amendment Act also known as the ROPAL law, 2006 [Act 699], the External Branches of New Patriotic Party continue to put measures in place through active mobilisation of Ghanaians living abroad to strategically wait for the implementation of ROPAL.

Through one of these measures, the NPP UK Hull Chapter held its Annual End of Year Party over the weekend for a membership drive. The event was well attended registering over 85 adults and 24 youth and teenagers.

Speaking at the event, the Branch Secretary of NPP UK and Chairman of the event, Dr Da Costa Aboagye touted some of the great achievements of the NPP in government over the last 2 years.

He said the NPP was delivering on the manifesto promises and has within 2 years implemented the digital address system, stabilisation of the cedi, national ID card system, restoration of nursing trainee allowances, free Senior High School (HS) programme, mobile money interoperability, railways project among others.

Dr Aboagye finally assured members that the Hull Chapter’s bid to be inaugurated is under review and hopefully, it will become a fully operational chapter by the middle of 2019.

In attendance of event were the Deputy Branch Organiser, Mr Eric Amofa and some chapter executives from Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham and many others.

The Deputy Branch Organiser, Mr Eric Amofa also spoke to the attendees, members and visitor to be agents of membership drives for the party.

Manchester and Leeds chapter Chairmen – Mr Alex Appiah-Mensah and Mr Patrick Mensah respectively encouraged members not to give up in their quest to becoming a full chapter.

The Hull Chapter Chairman, Mr Ben Eshun, in his speech stated that he will do all it takes for Hull to be inaugurated as a full chapter.

In addition, Mr Eshun assured members that he will ensure full participation and membership drives of NPP UK in the ROPAL project.

The event which started around 5:00pm and ended around 11:45pm saw a lot of people in free style dance where Mr Sarkodie, the Manchester Chapter Organiser was voted the best dancer.
