TalensiThe nurses had been engaged by the ruling NDC to conduct free eye screening for residents of Wakii, a suburb of Tongo ahead of the elections.

The irate supporters, according to Bediako Justice, suspected the nurses of using the medical screening exercise as a smoke screen to push the agenda of the ruling party in the polls.

They seized the equipment of the nurses and sent them to the NPP constituency office in the area.

The victims and officials of the NDC have officially reported the matter to the Tongo Police, Bediako noted.

The by-election is a straight fight between the ruling National Democratic Congress? BT Baba and Thomas Duanab of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). The poll has become necessary following the enskinment of the MP for the area Robert Nachinab Mosore as chief of the Tolon traditional area.
