Alhaji Zak Rahman, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso East Constituency, has called on the Zongo community to support Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming elections, emphasising competence over religious affiliation.

During a visit to the Muslim community on September 16, 2024, Rahman highlighted Bawumia’s extensive experience as a technocrat and his successful tenure as Vice President, asserting that he is the best in this role under the Fourth Republic.

“His bold solutions outlined in his manifesto reflect a genuine commitment to Ghana’s development and growth,” Rahman stated. He urged the community to trust Bawumia’s vision for a digitalisation-driven future, which he described as a vital engine for economic progress.

Rahman praised Bawumia’s track record, noting that his political achievements have established him as a capable problem-solver—an attribute he believes is lacking among other candidates.

“We must vote for him not only because he is our Muslim brother but because of the competence he brings to the position,” he stressed.

He also reminded the community of the Zongo Development Fund, which has significantly contributed to the advancement of Zongos nationwide, including the provision of Astro Turfs to help nurture footballing talent.
