German automotive refinement specialist NOVITEC has announced a comprehensive customization package for the Ferrari Daytona SP3, boosting the hypercar’s output to 638 kilowatts or 868 horsepower through an advanced exhaust system and wheel modifications.
The company, based in Stetten in the Unterallgäu district of Germany, revealed the upgrade program this week for one of Ferrari’s most exclusive models. The Daytona SP3 is part of Ferrari’s Icona series, with production limited to just 599 units worldwide at a base price of approximately 2.25 million US dollars.
NOVITEC’s performance enhancement centers on a meticulously calibrated high performance exhaust system featuring metal catalysts. The system enables the naturally aspirated 6.5 litre twelve cylinder engine to expel exhaust gases more efficiently, resulting in a power increase of 28 horsepower from the stock 829 horsepower output.
The exhaust system features full thermal insulation, which positively impacts heat management in the engine bay and improves power delivery. Clients can optionally specify the entire exhaust system with 999 fine gold plating for enhanced heat dissipation properties.
The upgraded mid engine sports car delivers output of 638 kilowatts or 868 horsepower, making it more responsive to throttle inputs according to NOVITEC. The sports exhaust includes electronically controlled sound management, allowing drivers to adjust the exhaust note from inside the cockpit. The sound spectrum ranges from subtle with the system closed to a racing inspired V12 tone at high engine speeds with exhaust flaps open.
NOVITEC developed custom high tech forged wheels in cooperation with American manufacturer Vossen. The wheels are fitted in a staggered combination of 20 inch diameter at the front and 21 inch diameter at the rear, emphasizing the wedge shaped profile of the two seater sports car.
The NOVITEC NF10 wheel design features five twin spokes with a centerlock style hub cap, combining structural strength with lightweight construction. Front wheels measure 9.5 inches by 20 inches with 265/30 ZR 20 tires, while rear wheels measure 12.5 inches by 21 inches with 345/30 ZR 21 tires.
The wheels are available in three different designs and multiple color and finish variants, all tailor made for the Daytona SP3’s wheel wells. NOVITEC also offers interior customization services, allowing owners to specify appointments crafted from premium leather and Alcantara materials to personal preferences.
The Ferrari Daytona SP3 is powered by the largest twelve cylinder engine in Ferrari history. The 6.5 litre naturally aspirated V12 represents the most powerful non hybrid engine Ferrari has installed in a road car, with a redline of 9,500 revolutions per minute. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a seven speed dual clutch transmission.
Ferrari unveiled the Daytona SP3 in November 2021 at the Finali Mondiali Ferrari event at Mugello Circuit in Italy. The car pays homage to Ferrari’s famous victory at the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona, where three Ferrari sports prototypes crossed the finish line side by side in first, second, and third positions.
The Daytona SP3 features butterfly doors with integrated air boxes to channel air to side mounted radiators. The removable targa roof panel allows open air driving. Design elements reference multiple historic Ferrari racing cars including the 330 P3/4, 512 S, and Pininfarina’s 1968 250 P5 concept.
NOVITEC specializes in performance and aesthetic refinement for automobiles from Ferrari and other premium manufacturers including Lamborghini, McLaren, Maserati, and Rolls Royce. The company operates globally with distribution networks across multiple continents.
All 599 production units of the Daytona SP3 were sold by invitation to existing Ferrari clients before public announcement. An additional one off example created specifically for auction sold for 26 million US dollars during Monterey Car Week in California.
